Tutor??

Last Thursday, I tried to apply for a physics, chemistry, and math tutor as a volunteer worker. In fact, to look good on my resume for a transfer application, it would be a good experience if I work as a tutor. For one required essay, in order to transfer to UC system, every applicant needs to write an essay which needs to explain how he has been preparing transfer. In my case, I would like to convince them by letting them know my tutor job and my math competition experience. Moreover, this semester, I signed up one Science Club and an Astronomy Club which runs by my friends.

I had to get recommendations from my instructors to verify my math, physics, and chemistry problem solving skills. After my physics and math class, I asked my professor if he could write recommendations for me. They asked my final grade from previous semester, and they were willing to write me recommendations. I expected one paragraph of recommendation which consist of full of my praise but it was really simple. “I recommend him to work as a physics tutor.” “Jung Kim is qualified for a Math tutor.” That was all.

  1. It seems like you're doing a good job of preparing yourself for transfer. That takes a lot of forethought because it's not as easy as it once was due to all the budget cuts. There are few and fewer spaces, so the more you do to set yourself apart, the better.
